Before entering adult films, Hefner worked as a Raiderette (a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Raiders football team). She capitalized on her cheerleading career by posing nude for men's magazines including Playboy and Penthouse.
Despite the last name and her connection to the pornography industry, she is not related to Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner.
Adult film endeavors
After meeting Amber Lynn at an AIDS benefit in the early 1990s, Hefner began considering a career in adult film; she appeared in her first movie in 1993 and soon signed a contract with Vivid Entertainment. Her family, conservative Southern Baptists, severed all ties with her when they learned of her porn career.
A few years after her debut, Hefner left the adult industry but returned after a brief absence.
